A bit more detail about my background...
Passionate About Working Alongside You

I have worked in the counselling and social service world for nearly 20 years (which makes me sound much older than I feel!). This was initially within a residential treatment centre for people with co-existing disorders (mental health and substance abuse or gambling issues). This means our clients were all struggling with depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, emotional regulation issues, or other mental health issues. Often they were using drugs or alcohol or gambling to help them cope. My roles included individual counselling, group work, facilitation, provision of individual and group supervision, clinical oversight and staff management.
I have worked in private practice since soon after shifting to Queenstown in 2014. I am also currently working part time as a Guidance Counsellor at Wakatipu High School. I provide Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) support for several providers. I am ACC registered for working with Sensitive Claims.

Since 2012 I have been delivering training to the Alcohol and Other Drugs workforce in a number of areas, including treatment models, co-existing problems, addiction basics, boundaries, assessment and group work. My role has also involved providing supervision and clinical support to a team of professionals.
